With support from NSW Government, Momentum Collective is excited to announce the official launch of the much-needed affordable housing building in Casino. The $2 million property delivers eight sustainable units, including one accessible property.
The launch opening welcomed the presence of Minister for Families and Communities and Disability Services, Natasha Maclaren-Jones, and Richmond Valley’s Mayor Robert Mustow.
According to Momentum Collective’s CEO, Dr. Tracey Mackie, the development of these units will positively impact the lives of locals looking for affordable and sustainable housing in Casino.
“Affordable housing is in high demand in the area. We are glad to provide safe, secure, and stable homes for community members who may have lived in unsuitable environments, were experiencing rental stress, or were heavily affected by the recent floods losing their homes and possessions.”
Momentum Collective partnered with REA Solar to build for the future with sustainable features such as solar panels and battery storage to keep energy costs down.
“It’s great to see how we can improve the living quality of the local community members and inspire positive change to a sustainable future,” Michael Mrowka, Director of REA Solar, said.
Eligible tenants have moved into the new homes, with the last tenant moving in at the end of this week.
“It really warms my heart to know that I have been given this opportunity, and that Momentum saw something in me, and decided to give me a shot” – Centre Street Tenant Chloe.
